Inhale love, exhale gratitude
This week's blog post is dedicated to my family and friends who have really helped me through my toughest times, who have showered me with lots of different attentions to brighten my days. From mails, SMS’s, cards to flowers, keep sakes, pamper baskets, presents, paintings …. Each one was a heart-warming sign of empathy and affection. Each one was also very unique and I was again and again touched by the authenticity of each gift.
To honor them, I created my so-called ‘gift table’ in the middle of our living room, the true heart of our house. This gift table reminded me of all these heart-felt tokens and picked me up in dour moments. This gift table was also uplifting for my family, creating quite some excitement every time something new arrived.
As said earlier, the authenticity was especially touching and to achieve it, it’s key to follow one’s intuition and also to live with a certain sense of urgency. So if you think of someone, want to talk to someone, do it. Don’t wait. If you want to express your gratitude, your empathy … do it. Don’t wait. If you think that something needs fixing …. Fix it. Don’t wait.
Why the urgency? Well, you never know what happens next to you or to the other person. So do it and avoid regrets that torment you later. And chose the means that you think most appropriate. True authenticity is fantastic, heart-warming and you hardly can go wrong.
While you make the recipient really happy, you will immensely benefit yourself, knowing that you have done well and made a change for the better.
I am so incredibly grateful that I have been able to receive all these expressions of support, love and friendship! Others get such outpour of empathy only at their funeral ;-( when it is actually too late for them to cherish and deepen relationships.
I have been lucky to get this very special experience in the middle of my life and it will resonate with me for the rest of my life. THANK YOU.
