Practicing love to nurture love
At the heart of my life's motto "live, love, laugh everyday" is LOVE. This motto element has many facets and is closely linked to the ambition to live life from the heart.
On German TV there was recently a reality show called “Marriage on first sight” where couples were paired based on multiple scientific questionnaires and first met at the altar. The couple that was most successful in their relationship, highlighted that they entered into the relationship and lived through their married life with the attitude of “We are in love”. I was touched by this insight because it reminded me so much about my own heart-felt insight that we can tune our mindset everyday anew, and that it is also true when it comes to love.
We can practice love everyday anew, thereby growing our emotional sentiment of love. We can also be more forgiving towards our loved ones, accepting their flaws instead of wanting to change them and turn them into someone they are not.
In her book “The Gifts of Imperfections”, Brene Brown points out that love is not only a feeling but needs to be understood as action.
Once you understand that it’s about practicing love to nurture and grow love, you feel empowered and can get into action mode instead of feeling perhaps unloved. Her book has been very inspirational for me and continues to be thought provoking .... and action triggering.
